The fountains of Dubai

Dubai travel guide – A grandiose aquatic spectacle

The Dubai Fountains are located at the foot of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They are the largest dancing fountains in the world, with a width of 275 meters and a height of 150 meters.

The Dubai Fountains use 6,600 litres of water per minute and are powered by 25 colour projectors. They are capable of creating complex patterns and figures, synchronised to music.

Musical repertoire. The fountain shows include an impressive musical diversity, with performances of Arabic, classical and international songs. Each show is unique and takes place every 30 minutes in the evening.

Sheikh Zayed mosque

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is a Sunni mosque located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is one of the largest mosques in the world and is considered one of the most important architectural works of the 21st century.

The mosque was built in honour of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the first president of the United Arab Emirates. It was designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid and was built by a consortium of companies led by French company Bouygues Construction.

The mosque is built of white marble and gray granite. It has an area of 22,412 square meters and can accommodate up to 40,000 worshipers. The mosque has a large central dome 85 meters high and 32 meters in diameter. It is surrounded by four minarets 107 meters high.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is an important place of worship for Muslims around the world. It is also a popular tourist destination. The mosque is open to non-Muslim visitors every day except during prayer times.

How to visit Sheikh Zayed Mosque

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It can be reached by car, taxi or bus.

Tours of the mosque are free and must be booked in advance. Tours start at 9:00 am and end at 7:00 pm.

Visitors are asked to dress modestly when visiting. Women should wear a head scarf and a dress that covers their knees. Men should wear long pants and a long-sleeved shirt.

Visitors are also asked to remove their shoes before entering the mosque.

Exploring the desert

Going to Dubai without discovering its vast sand is like missing the cherry on the cake. The beauty of the desert is incomparable, and there are many ways to explore it: by quad bike, by camel or even by hot air balloon. And for the more adventurous, it is possible to go sandboarding on the sand dunes.

How to get there

To get to the desert from the city center, you can take the metro to Mall of the Emirates station and then bus number 66 to Dubai Desert Conservation Area. You won’t regret it!

Advice for your visit

For all activities in the desert, it is best to go through professionals. Access to the desert is within everyone’s reach, and you can treat yourself to this experience for a few dozen euros. If you want to fly over the desert by helicopter, this will require a larger budget.

It’s difficult to give you a summary with so many beaches in Dubai, but I offer you the 4 most beautiful ones which I took full advantage of. Visiting Dubai also means enjoying the beaches.

Sunset beach

Sunset Beach, renowned for its breathtaking sunsets, seduces with its crystal clear waters, golden sand and breathtaking views. Whether you like the beach, photography or romance, Sunset Beach will satisfy you. It offers activities for everyone, from water sports to family barbecues. To get there, take bus 8 or the metro to Jumeirah Beach Residence 2, then walk.

Ajman beach

Located 30 minutes from Dubai by car, Ajman beach charms with its white sand and crystal clear water. Relax on deck chairs, swim in the turquoise water and shop at the local market for unique souvenirs. Take bus 114 from Dubai to Ajman or metro to Rashidiya, then take a taxi.

JBR beach

Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) is a must-visit destination thanks to its crystal clear waters, fine sand and water activities. Take bus 8 or the metro to Jumeirah Beach Residence to get there.

Kite beach

Kite Beach, ideal for water sports, offers white sand, turquoise waters and various activities. Relax, kite surf, paddle or play volleyball. To get there by public transport, take bus 8 or the metro to Nakheel.
