Victoria Peak, or simply “The Peak,” is one of Hong Kong’s most iconic and popular attractions. Located on Hong Kong Island, Victoria Peak offers spectacular panoramic views of the city, Hong Kong Bay, and surrounding islands. It’s a must-see for visitors who want to admire Hong Kong’s glittering skyline and vibrant cityscape.

Highlights of the visit

Observatory. The highest point of Victoria Peak has an observatory where you can enjoy a 360-degree view of Hong Kong. It is the perfect place to take breathtaking photos of the skyline and the bay.
Peak tram. To reach the summit, you can take the famous Peak Tram, a historic tram that climbs to the top of the mountain. The ride already offers impressive views of the city below.

Useful information

Access. You can reach Victoria Peak by taking the Peak Tram from the terminus at Garden Road, near Hong Kong’s Central district. It is also possible to reach it by taxi or bus.
Opening hours. The Peak Tram runs daily from 7am to midnight. It is recommended to visit Victoria Peak early in the morning or late in the day to avoid the crowds and enjoy the best views.

The Big Buddha

The MTR is the fastest and most economical means of transport.
The tram is a scenic option for exploring Hong Kong Island. The ferry is a pleasant way to travel between islands.
Taxi (more expensive, but practical for shorter journeys).

Prices vary depending on the mode of transport:

The MTR costs between HKD5 and HKD55 depending on the distance traveled.
Buses cost between HKD 3.5 and HKD 48. Trams cost HKD 2.3 per ride.
The ferry costs between HKD 2.2 and HKD 30. Taxis have a base fare of HKD 24 and HKD 1.7 per kilometer traveled.
