To get to the Colosseum, it is best to use public transport. Metro line B stops at “Colosseo” station, right in front of the Colosseum. It is also possible to take the bus or walk from the surrounding area, allowing you to enjoy magnificent views of Rome’s historic monuments. The tourist bus is a huge time saver, it’s my option.
Once there, it is possible to visit the interior of the Colosseum with an entrance ticket which also allows access to the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. The guided tour allows you to discover the history and architecture of this impressive monument. It is also possible to visit the Colosseum at night, which offers a unique and magical experience.

Visiting Rome and Vatican
The Roman Forum is an emblematic place in Rome which offers a real journey through time. During my visit, I was transported into the history of this city and its empire, discovering the remains of this ancient Roman city.
To get to the Roman Forum, you can use the metro to Colosseo station, then walk a few minutes or take the tourist bus (more convenient!).
The remains of temples, markets and basilicas are very well preserved, and the atmosphere of the place is magical. I was also impressed by the Arch of Titus and Trajan’s Column, which are remarkable monuments.
A visit to the Roman Forum allows you to better understand the history of Rome and its empire. I was fascinated by the anecdotes that the guide told us, such as the one about the origin of the name of the month of July, which is linked to the famous Roman emperor Julius Caesar.
The Piazza di Spagna

The Piazza di Spagna is one of the most iconic squares in Rome, renowned for its famous marble staircase leading to the Church of the Trinity of the Hills.
To get to Piazza di Spagna, simply take the metro to Spagna Station, a short walk away, or take the tourist bus. As soon as you arrive, you will be instantly dazzled by the view of this monumental staircase and the splendor of the square.
The Piazza di Spagna is the perfect place to stroll and admire the baroque architecture of Rome. You will be captivated by the Fide Propaganda Palace and the Santissima Trinità dei Monti Church, which offer panoramic views of the city.
The atmosphere of Piazza di Spagna is quite unique, with tourists and locals mingling to enjoy the square’s many cafes, shops and restaurants. Take pleasure in sitting on the steps of the staircase, observe the passers-by and immortalize the moment with souvenir photos.

A unique feature of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is its museum, housing a collection of religious art objects, including relics of saints and pieces of goldwork. The museum is open every day, except Monday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To get to Castel Sant’Angelo, take the metro to Lepanto station, then a short 10-minute walk (or take the tourist bus that takes you there). The castle is easily recognizable with its cylindrical silhouette and the majestic statue of the Archangel Saint-Michel which dominates its summit.
Inside the castle, the wonder continues with its sumptuously decorated rooms and captivating panoramas of the city. There you will discover a vast collection of works of art, weapons, armor, as well as reconstructions of medieval pieces.

The Sistine Chapel, a unique place that I had the chance to discover in Rome, remains my favorite place in the city.
This chapel, housed in the heart of the Vatican Museums, presents a spectacular fresco, a masterful work by Michelangelo which adorned the ceiling and walls.
What fascinated me was this feeling of total immersion in history and art. The richness of detail and symbolism fills every corner of the chapel, making it a masterpiece of art and technique, with the ceiling, in particular, standing out.
Deeply moved by the solemn and contemplative atmosphere, my appreciation for Michelangelo’s art was strengthened.
